TRAITS OF PENTECOSTALISM UNDER THE MESSAGE: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

 

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

 

I am Brother Roy Barrow, a former Pentecostal for thirteen years: 1964 to1977. I confirm, fully support and endorse all the things that were preached and published by God’s servant on 100 years of Pentecostalism, to be true, for I was among them.

As a boy, I went to church and to Sunday school, where I was taught Bible stories and sang sacred songs and choruses.

As I advanced in age and approached teenage life, I became wild, having my own way, disobedient, rude and rebellious.

In 1964, my life was miraculously, supernaturally and dramatically spun around. A Pentecostal began to witness to me about how the Lord Jesus Christ came into the world, bled and died on the cross to save sinners. At the end of his witnessing to me, he asked me if I wanted to accept Christ as my Savior, and I said, “Yes”, and I meant it.

From that time a dramatic and drastic change came over my life. It was two weeks after that I realized that I had stopped cursing (I was a “cuss bird”), lying, stealing and being rebellious in such a way that I was amazed. The village was shocked and surprised and took note of the change that came into my life and was glad for me. I lost taste for dancing that I had loved very much, for partying and for carnival. I lost taste for calypso music, country and western and sentimental songs, and all worldly music. I stopped going to cinemas. I stop chasing girls and I began living for Christ.

I got baptized in water in the titles of Father, Son and Holy Ghost at Goldsborough river Tobago, and where I continued to serve the Lord. I was told that the next step was for me to get filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

            I wanted the baptism of the Holy Ghost. A man who we knew, in the Pentecostal circles, as the Holy Ghost man, Pastor Hector, came to Pembroke Tobago, and on a Friday night meeting he was tarrying with those who did not have the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

            He told me, “Just say, ‘hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. Say it faster, faster and faster’”, until an anointing came upon me and I began to speak in tongues. From thereon I spoke in tongues, prayed in tongues, sang in tongues above many youths my equal: and even the adults in my church, until I came to Bethel, where the Word took away my tongues and put it in its place.

            As a Pentecostal, I was full of zeal, zest and impetus for Christ. I was hungry and thirsty for God. I wanted God to use me. I wanted every spiritual gift and I wanted to be used of God. I attended almost every service, which was five times a week, plus other departmental meetings. In those days, I walked three miles to church and back with some of the brethren. As we walked those lonely roads, we sang those sacred songs and choruses, bubbling with joy and great happiness.

Beloved, the Pentecostal world has perverted all those sacred songs and have brought calypso, rock, soca and dub into the church to see if they can win the world.

As a young believer I ate God’s Word, I memorised my scriptures and I was a “praying mantis”. When I prayed, you could have heard me in the distance calling upon God and speaking in tongues like an automatic pistol. When that anointing came up me and I spoke in tongues, I used to feel way up in the Spirit, and I felt I could have taken on any devil, but it never worked.

I fasted. We prayed all night. I desired power to heal the sick and to cast out demons. I prayed and laid hands on the crippled and they remained crippled. I prayed for the demon possessed and they remained demon possessed.

As a young man, I would jump on my bicycle, ride to Speyside and Roxborough to preach to young people, and rode all those lonely roads back at 9:3010:30, all by myself, in the night. I held almost every position in the church and I was a fireball for God.

           

 

IMMORALITIES OF  PENTECOSTALISM

             

One of the things that amazed and baffled me as a young believer was a brother who spoke in a powerful unknown tongue. He used to vibrate and shake down the place with froth on both sides of his mouth and spittle flying all over the place. But I came to find out that he was living in fornication with an unsaved woman. That troubled me until I came to the message, where we were taught that the rain falleth on the just and unjust.

I knew of pastors living in adultery and still speaking in tongues. I knew of a good minister friend of mine whose wife was living in adultery with his fellow minister friend. That minister still preaches the gospel and has a big church in the city of Port of Spain. My minister friend had to run from this country with his wife to get away from this other minister that used to live with his wife.

I knew of a minister who had no children with his wife, who went out and committed adultery and had a child outside of his wife. And is still pastoring and claim to have the baptism of the Spirit and is still speaking in tongues.

Is this the experience of Acts 2:1-4? No! It is what they received at Azusa Street. It’s the rain falling on the just and unjust. What the apostles received in Acts 2: 1-4, they never went and committed fornication and adultery with it. No man could have charged them with such sexual sins, for they were built-up right and they had the genuine baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Joel 2:28).

I now understand what it means for the rain to fall on the just and the unjust, and power apart form Christlike character is satanic. What they received at Azusa Street was power apart from Christlike character. That is why they could have gone out and committed fornication, adultery, sexual perversions and pulled for money with it. But what they received in Acts 2:1-4 was genuine and they could not have lived such wicked lives with it.

In the early Pentecostal days, you could not be living in sin and coming to church. You would have been put out or stopped at the door. The ministers now, have no shame. They beg for money like shameless dogs. They rob the poor people of their little money that they have to go by. They will make you empty your pockets and put your travelling money in the offering.

The women in Pentecost never practised mixed bathing, never wore swimsuits and bikinis and never wore immodest clothing. They wore full dresses, skirts and bodices. You could not have seen the impression of their underclothing, but now it is a beauty show, it is a circus. You can see the impression of the women’s underclothing on the outside. No reason to doubt that’s why the ministers and lay members are falling in so much fornication and adultery.

            In my early Pentecostal days a woman could not wear jewellery, never straightened their hair, never wore lipsticks and painted their faces. The women could not wear pants, coulette and slacks. They hardly wore gold, except a ring, if they were married. 

I saw woman slain by the Holy Ghost, fell down on the floor, their clothes lifted up where their underclothings were exposed, and men and women had to cover them with sheets. If that was the Holy Ghost, it would have kept their clothes down and not exposed their underclothing. It is a rude ghost. After they were slain, they were embarrassed to know they were rudely exposed like that. 

            I searched every radio station: Trinidad, Netherlands, Antilles, Anguilla, St. Martin, Quito, Ecuador etc. I turned my radio upside down. I heard the greatest preachers in the land, and around the world, great theologians and Bible scholars, but amongst them never a man spake like Dalton Bruce, for he speaks like one having authority.

I was looking for a man who knew the scriptures and knew what he is talking about. I never found that man in George Phillips, my first pastor. I never found that man in Ternel Joshua Nelson, my first presbyter, nor Jeremiah Prescott, my second presbyter, nor Marcus Roberts, my third presbyter; nor in Barker, Leebec, Alexander, Rayon, White or the whole host of them, in my time. But when I came to Bethel, and sat and listened, I concluded that this is not man, but this is God. This is His Word, and this is what I had been searching for. Brother Bruce is the first preacher that troubled and interfered with my soul and gave me hope.

In 1977 I came to Bethel, through an invitation that was given to Brother Chandler by Brother Jackson, which was extended to me. I thought I was just coming to that meeting and move on to the evangelistic field, because a group of us were planning to go through the Caribbean and South America. I was a preacher for ten years up until I came to Bethel. But God had better plans for me and for you.

When I heard the Word of God the first time, I wanted to hear more. When I heard It the second time, I wanted to hear more, and continued to want more. And even up to now, I still want to hear more. I am never tired of hearing the Word of God.

            When I came here, the first thing that the Word took away from me was my false water baptism. I subsequently got re-baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I thought that was all, but as I continued to sit under the Word, It took away my birth. That is what pushed me into desperation after Life, until I came to clear cut understanding on the Rock revelation of the Son of Man.

            As I continued to follow on, the Word came and took away my Baptism of the Holy Ghost that I received in Pentecost. I lost my water baptism; I lost my new birth and my baptism of the Holy Ghost. And tonight, and I am contending for the genuine baptism of the Holy Ghost that the apostles received on the day of Pentecost, and I am going to receive it

I have been in this fellowship going into three decades or thirty years under the spiritual guidance and leadership of my shepherd, Brother Dalton Bruce.

Among us tonight and I have witnessed thirty years: there has been a good and perfect gift in operation among God’s people in the form of His servant, Brother Dalton Bruce.

He was told by the first martyr and his shepherd that he was called to be a spiritual leader among God’s people. This statement has undoubtedly proven to be so over the years, and it has won our utmost confidence. He has our full endorsement and certification, with many more around the world through E.O.D.H books, in Africa, India, the Philippines, Australia, China, Germany, Europe, North America, South America and the Caribbean.

The servant of the Lord can say like Brother Paul in Galatians 1: 10-11:

<For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.>   

His preaching has brought great light and understanding on God’s Word, which we never understood in our many years in religion, and more so, under this message. We can now say with full assurance of faith that we understand. His preaching has been an eye-opener to us on the promise outpouring of God for the hour; another return of Pentecost. The entire theme of his preaching is majored or centralizes on another Pentecost. According to the scriptures and Brother Braham’s teachings, we truly believe that he is a spiritual leader among God’s people.

Brother Dalton Bruce is a God-called, God-sent, God-commissioned and inspired leader. The scripture says in Job 32:8:

<But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.>

There is a spirit in God’s servant, and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth him understanding. He has grown in leaps and bounds in the Word of God and the revelation of this message.

Proverbs: 18:16 says:  <A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.>

This gift in God’s servant is making room for him through the E.O.D.H books and is bringing him before great men; even God’s people in the message, and they cannot defeat what he teaches, even because he is speaking God’s Word. (Miciah: 2 Chronicles 18:12.)

<And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.>

Like Micaiah, he is not saying the same things like all the other preachers in this message, preaching that all is over and all was in Brother Branham. He is preaching that a power is coming to the church for rapture power of the Bride.

I am not ashamed of the gospel that he preaches, for it is the gospel of Christ and the power of God unto salvation. It is the gospel of Paul, the gospel of the apostles and the gospel of William Branham.

 

 

Question # 1: “Should the song leader preach while leading songs?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: We have some of the best song leaders in the world. We will continue to give the song leaders here our full support and co-operation to make the service a blessing.

A song leader must be prayed up in order to pick the right songs for the services to be a blessing. You don’t lead songs just like that. It doesn’t work like that. To be a blessing to the congregation and for God to    use you, you cannot be too busy for the Lord. You must take a little time to be calm and quiet before the Lord to see which way He leads. The song leader paves the way to invite and bring the Spirit into the service for the preacher to bring the Word of God.

The song leader can make it easy for the preacher or he can make it hard for him, where he may have to battle a damp spirit from the song service, and he has to break it by a greater gift and anointing of the Spirit.

I look back and see the way or road we travelled. How the song service used to be conducted. When it was time for the song service to start, the song leader would rise and go to the pulpit, lead his songs, pick up the tithes and offering, sing a chorus or song and introduce the preacher. For sometime now we have our song leaders seated while they lead the song service in order that others will be trained, among whom is the official song leader for that song service.

I want to say that we have some of the best trained song leaders in the world, and one of the best trained congregations in the world.

Beloved, a brother may be gifted both to be a song leader and a preacher, but he is not to use the two offices at the same time. When he is leading song services, he is leading song services. And when he is preaching the Word of God, he should preach the Word of God. These are two distinct operations of the Spirit. One is to lead songs and the greater is to preach the Word.

Our song leaders here, and those in a few other places, are so trained by God’s servant, not to preach in-between leading songs. A song leader is called to lead songs. He is not called to preach while leading songs. A song leader is not to preach a little sermonette at the end of every song, even if he is a preacher. They are two different offices and two different functions and operations or administrations of the Spirit. You do not criss-cross your wires. You do not mix both functions at the same time. That is Pentecostalism, where a song leader preaches between each song to impress the congregation that he is anointed and under the power of God. Most times this is his pride and ambition expressed, and showmanship that he is better than the other song leaders

A song leader is called to lead songs and a preacher is called to preach. You do not mix matters. All these mix-ups, criss-cross of your wires: sing and preach at the same time, as a song leader, at different intervals, mixing both functions or operations, and mixing the two offices at the same time, are wrong. It is either you are the song leader or the preacher.

When a song leader sings and preaches in-between each song, he uses up the time of the preacher and he wears, wounds and tires out the congregation before the minister brings the Word, which is the most important part of the services, and this kills or ruins the services. This is unscriptural. Brother Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:40:

<Let all things be done decently and in order.>

All things include your song service. According to ‘Church Order, a song leader’s business is to go to the pulpit, and in our case, a group of brothers sit with the main song leader and sing the songs of Zion.

 

DON’T LET THE SONG LEADERS CARRY ON LIKE THEY’RE A PREACHER

 

Quote W.M.B:  913-186 And have a song leader, no matter who it is. And don't let them stand up and say--or carry on a lot, they're a preacher. See? Let them stand up there and lead songs; that's their business. It's the pastor's business to preach (See?). (Church Order 63-1226).

 

It’s the pastor’s business to preach. A song leader preaching at the end of each song is wrong. This is a hangover from so-called Pentecost, and this habit is under the message, and it is Pentecostalism. It is contrary to the teachings on Malachi 4: 5-6. That is not church order. It is breaking the prophet’s instructions. That is disobedience. It is confusion. The prophet said to have a song leader, and don’t let them sing or carry on a lot. If that goes for the song leader, what about a brother or sister in the congregation taking over a song and carrying on a lot? It is wrong and it is Pentecostalism. That is disorder, disrespect to the song leader and irreverent to God. That shouldn’t be done.

            For a pastor or preacher to ascend the pulpit after a visiting minister completes his message, and reproach the sermon, is shameless Pentecostalism and unmannerly. Many times it expresses pride and show-off. This is normal among message ministers, even if they need to correct a heresy or not preached by the visiting minister.

 

 

Question # 2: “Is the song leader over the music program?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: We have song leaders here and elsewhere who are preachers, and they have been a great blessing to us over the years, but they are not over the music programme. They are not over the song leading.

God has blessed them with voices for congregational singing, but they cannot do what they want. The pastor may not have a gift to lead songs, but he and he alone has the power over the music program, according to the teachings of Brother Branham on the operation of church offices. That is enough for me. You can believe what you want; that settles it for me. The pastor may not have the ability to lead songs but he has a greater gift to lead the church. The pastor is endowed with the gift to discern spirits and to know what is right and what is wrong. He is gifted to understand the things that please or don’t please God.

The pastor is a watchman and he is called to have the oversight of the flock. He has the discernment of spirits that the sheep does not have. He may not be able to sing a song, but he can pick up in the Spirit when a little worldly beat starts creeping into the songs, for God has so designed him to know these things. He knows when the music is too loud and too fast. He knows when worldly music is coming in and he knows whether the song leaders are a blessing to the church of God or not.

The pastor is like David; a watchman who slew the lion and the bear that came to destroy the sheep. A pastor senses the enemy as he approaches to slay the sheep, and catches it before he can slay and destroy the sheep. If he is a hireling he flees and leaves the sheep.

The pastor is in charge with the overall responsibility of leading and guiding the church in every aspect of her operations and functions in the House of God. The pastor is in charge of all offices in the House of God, from the janitors to the ministers. That is his duty; that is his job. He is in charge of the deacons, the treasurer and the trustees. The deacons don’t run the House of God. That goes on in so-called Pentecost. The pastor is the one to run the House of God. Anywhere you find deacons running the House of God, where the pastor has to wait on the deacon before he can do anything in the House of God, it is Pentecostalism, and he is a figurehead pastor. Anytime a pastor’s wife is running the show from behind the curtain or from behind the scene, that is Pentecostalism, and this is under this message. It is Pentecostalism.

We do not have a figurehead pastor. Our pastor is overall in charge of the church and he leads the church as he feels led of the Lord.

 

 

Question # 3: If a famous singer or musician from the world is saved. Should he be engaged in church services immediately?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: Beloved, it is not right to take a famous musician or singer from the world that has given his heart to the Lord, to sing and lead the congregation in songs or in any other services or activities in the House of God. We should not put a novice in a leadership position. It is wrong, for the scriptures say in 1 Timothy 3:6:

 <Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.>

If a man recently gave his life to the Lord, that does not deliver him overnight or completely from demon possession. He needs to purge, sanctify and empty his soul of those spirits. To take a singer from the world who just got saved or accepted Jesus, who was playing and singing all kinds of worldly songs, like jazz, rock, soul, calypso and dub etc., and playing in a band, and put him behind the pulpit to lead songs or play music is a great danger and contrary to the scripture. The way how he sang and played his music must not be transferred into the church. That is Pentecostalism.

Pentecost that once condemned all these worldly music is now filled with it. It is a fatal mistake and it poses a dangerous threat to the church to take a singer and musician from the world to sing songs and play music in the church. He will hybrid the sacred songs with the music of the world as now is in so-called Pentecost.

His spirit is not yet changed, and he will have the young people falling in love with such music, and have them catering to such worldly beats and singing them, if not stopped by a spiritual shepherd. It will eventually change the sacred songs from their original melody, to a worldly beat in the church, like in so-called Pentecost today.

 

 

SACRED SONGS PERVERTED

 

Pentecost is now filled with all kinds of worldly beats, and you cannot know the different between a sacred song and a worldly song. To put jazz, rock, soul, calypso and dub beats to the sacred songs is Pentecostalism. So-called Pentecost thinks that they are winning the world by copying these things from the world, but the devil is smarter than them. It is the other way around. It is the world that has won them. It is the world now in the church. It is the world in the church, in their singing, in their beats, in their music and in their dressing. There is no difference between the women of the world and the so-called Christians. There is no mark or distinction between them.

Long ago, it was wrong for believers to sing any kind of worldly songs in the church, but today you have all kinds of worldly music in the church. Ministers have allowed jazz, rock, soul, gospelypso and dub beats to be put to the sacred songs. Ministers who once condemned worldly beats now condone them in their churches. You big low-down hypocrites that call yourselves ministers. You have no spine; you have no backbone to stand for what is right. You are a jelly fish. You are a compromiser; you have no belly. All you are concerned about is the people’s tithes and offerings and not the salvation of the people’s souls. You know the people can’t make it in by compromising on God’s Word.

How was it once wrong, worldly and against your Christian consciences, and now you have made it right for those kinds of music to be in the church? If a thing was wrong and condemned a few years ago, it is still wrong and it is still worldly today.

If the wearing of slacks and short pants was dressing like the world and it was wrong, and which you condemned in the early days, it is still worldly, and the passing of time does not change God’s Word. It is contrary for a woman to wear a garment that pertaineth to a man. The scripture condemns it.

Deuteronomy 22: 5 <The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.>

You can say what you want and do what you want; you can’t change God’s Word. It is still wrong. God will not lower His standards to suit you. We have to bring our standards to suit His Word.

A singer now coming from the world to the Lord must not be allowed to ascend the pulpit and lead songs. That is Pentecostalism. He needs to sit down and empty himself of the world. Accepting Jesus as Saviour does not get rid of those spirits from such a person’s soul. He needs time to purge those worldly spirits out of his soul, where he is emptied of self, pride, ambition, fame, popularity and self-gratification, before he can ascend the pulpit.

He must be living a Christian life. His motives and objectives must be right and must be for the glorification of Christ. A spiritual pastor will know or discern if that man is empty of self and has given up his worldly styles in singing, and is making an effort to serve the Lord and to retrain himself to sing and play Christian music.

The devil is a sly, old fox. He is a slicker. He could make that man put in a little beat in a Christian song that does not sound too worldly or not that bad. You may feel good about it and think that nothing is wrong with it, but do you know that your music and singing is slightly changing, unknowingly, because you do not have that depth of discernment on the devil. The scripture says that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. But if you have a spiritual shepherd with the Word, he will know something isn’t right with that part of the song. He may not know anything about music but he has the discernment of spirits. For the scripture says that the Word of God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews: 4:12).

The shepherd’s spirit is not meshing with that part of the song. There is a conflict in his spirit or a disagreement with that part of the song that he does not feel right about. He knows what pleases God and what does not please God. The Spirit alerts him that something is wrong there in that song, and he will stop it because it is buffeting to his spirit and he can’t take it. That’s the way a man of God leads the church. He leads the church by spiritual discernment. Without spiritual discernment it is useless that a pastor tries to pastor a church. A pastor must have discernment. He must have spiritual discernment to catch the antichrist spirit every time he moves to hinder or stop the progress of the church of God or from obtaining her spiritual goals of the stature of a perfect man, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the rapture of the Bride off the earth.

When the music and the beats to the sacred songs start changing from the original beat or melody, it is the white horse rider riding, and it is the antichrist spirit riding in the form of songs. It is demon power at work to bring worldly music and beats into the church. That is damnable heresies. It is Nicolaitanism. It is a power trying to conquer the laity or church.

 

Quote: The music program and all order pertaining to the development of such a program is under the supervision of the pastor only, and the associate pastor. During regular - services, special meetings, or revivals, at all times, the pastors shall advise and conduct this program. The trustee board shall advise on the purchasing of any musical instruments and the pastor shall be consulted. Any suggestions for musical programs by the saints, deacons, or such parties interested should be presented to the pastor, who will welcome them, and advise on such suggestions. It is preferred the pastor shall control this program, as he is the leader of the worship service, and confidence is placed in his ability to lead the church in worship that is most pleasing to God. Music programs, testimony services, addresses by various parties, reports to the church by various offices, or any program that intervene the worship time should be under the pastors supervision. Quote W.M.B.: 15-3 If they get a true revelation of the two spirits within the framework of the Christian church, and by God's Spirit discern and withstand the antichrist spirit, Satan will be powerless before her. (The Revelation Of Jesus Christ - Church Age Book Cpt.1).

              

Church going has come to a place as though you are going to a party or fashion parade. There is no real conviction for the people’s sin. The whole thing has turned into a moneymaking affair.

There is no way for a minister to withstand the antichrist spirit if he lacks discernment on the two spirits within the framework of the Christian church. A minister must have the correct discernment of the right beats, the right music, the right songs, the right motives and objectives of the people. He must have the right discernment of every minister who enters the pulpit. He must understand these things in order to keep the church going down the middle of the road, between formality and fanaticisms. He must understand these things to defeat and keep the devil out of the church.

Preachers have made merchandise of the gospel. They beg like shameless dogs, over the radio and television, for money. They operate as businessmen to make money. They have all kinds of programs of dancing, dinners, inspiration, conferences and boat rides to make money. So-called Pentecostal ministers are a bunch of Judases and they belong to the Judatarian group. To love money like they do is the black horse rider of Revelation 5 riding them.

To be a scamp, a thief, a smart man or a fraudulent person and to defraud your brother, under this message, is Pentecostalism. It is Judatarianism. It is the black horse riding you.

To be a homosexual under this message is Parhamism. To be self-led under this message is Pentecostalism. So-called Pentecostals always use to say they felt led to do this and they felt led to do that.  To be self-led under this message, more so under this revelation, is Pentecostalism, and you will end up in problems. People did their own things without pastoral guidance. Many did what was right in their own eyes and ended up in problems.

A Judas spirit has stolen thousands of dollars from a church; milked thousands of dollars from his members, with the promise that he would pay back, but never did. I was told that he also borrowed thousands of US dollars from a backslidden brother in the United States, and so far, only paid back a little. That spirit is a “don’t pay back” spirit, and if you have a “don’t pay back” spirit, you have a Judas spirit anointing you, and you need to have that corrected. To love money as Judas is to be a Balaamite, for Balaam sold the Word of God for money, and you have that same spirit upon you that anointed Balaam.

 

 

Question #4: “Should anyone lift his or her voice above the song leader’s voice?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: A song leader’s duty is to lead the congregation in song and that is the reason why he is called a song leader. In my thirty years at Bethel, I have never seen a man or woman trying to take over the song service by lifting their voice higher than the song leader. No sister or brother ought to rise up in the congregation and lift their voice louder than that of the song leader, and from where they are, take over the song service from the song leader, and when he wants to stop he cannot stop because he or she is still carrying the song or some other brother or sister with others start over the song afresh. They call that the moving of the Spirit, getting into the Spirit or a break through in the Spirit. That is Pentecostalism. It is an unruly spirit. It is a “got away” spirit. It is an untrained spirit that is called “moving of the Spirit”.

Allowing a sister or brother in the congregation to lift his or her voice louder than the song leader and control the song service from the congregation, and claim that it is the “Holy Spirit moving, the fire fell and the Spirit took over”; such move or conduct is strictly out of order. It is wrong. It is unscriptural and forbidden by the prophet. Sometimes the song leader wants to stop the song but this person still continues the song from the congregation. It is wrong. It is Pentecostalism.

When a song leader feels checked of the Spirit to stop a song, no one in the congregation should take it over and carry on with it. He is the song leader and he was put there to lead the congregation in singing, and not you. That is fanaticism; it is Pentecostalism. That is what goes on in so-called Pentecost that they call the “moving of the Spirit”.

Anytime people are allowed to carry on like that without being stopped, they are wrong, they are untrained, and the pastor himself is untrained. He came out from Pentecost but never left his so-called Pentecostal traits and habits behind.

He allows the women and men to sing what they want, to go on any how they want, without proper pastoral guidance because he himself is untrained and ignorant of what is correct church order on how people should conduct themselves in the House of the Lord.

 Mr. Minister, you allow your song service to run for hours. That ruins and kills the service, and by the time you come to the pulpit the people are worn, wounded and tired from singing and carrying on. Some are sleepy and some fall asleep on the preacher when it comes to the most important part of the service: the preaching of God’s Word. All these habits and carrying on came from so-called Pentecost. We must put all those unruly traits away, now that we have come under the message of Malachi 4: 5-6.

Beloved, we at Bethel and other places are perfectly established on all these things, for decades, and don’t practise them in our midst. Let it be known that nobody should at anytime be lifting his or her voice above or higher and louder than the song leader. Even though you may be a singer or a song leader yourself, you should not butt in and start leading a song. When that song leader is taking the song service for that night, he is the official song leader.

We have several preachers here. If another minister gets in the Spirit and he feels over exuberant or overwhelmed with joy from the Word or a message while a minister is preaching, and he comes up before the pulpit and starts preaching from in front of the sacred desk, it will cause confusion and must be stopped, and he must be asked by the minister bringing the Word for that service, to take his seat.

A preacher can get anointed and overexcited like that even because he has a gift in his bosom, but he must have self-control. The Holy Spirit did not cause him to go up there. No! It is a lack of control. He needs to be trained. God doesn’t operate like that. Only one preacher is to be preaching at a time. That is divine order.

Let me show you divine order put in place in the Corinthian church.

 1 Corinthians 14: 27-33 <If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.>

This was an established practice among all the churches of the saints. The saints knew how to conduct themselves in the House of God. They were established on church order.

Speaking in tongues and prophesying must be done by course or order. It must be done one after the other. That is Bible order. A bunch of people speaking in tongues at the same time is Pentecostalism, and it is not Biblical order. It produces mass confusion.

 

Quote W.M.B.: 203-337 And you people who's got the Holy Ghost and called into offices, teachers... Now, could you imagine... Here's me standing here trying to teach, and here jump a man up, side of me, and start teaching right at the same time, another man stand out here singing a jubilee song? Well, what a confusion. Well, that's the way it is about speaking in tongues. Let it come orderly, just as the Spirit will give it, you can speak with tongues.

Now, you say, "Well, Brother Branham, I can't help it." Oh, yes, you can. Paul said you could; he said, "If there be one of you among you, who speaks with tongues, and there be no interpreter, let him hold his peace." No matter how much It wants to speak, hold your peace. That's a gift, brother…and that gift wants to operate all the time. See? But you've got to have the wisdom of the Holy Spirit here to know when and how to operate that gift. (Questions And Answers 54-0515).

 

A brother could be gifted to sing, and a song may be a blessing to him and it keeps on bubbling in his heart. That does not mean he must take over the song and run it for an hour or as long as he wants. No! He is wrong, it is out of order and it is Pentecostalism. He must have self-control.

The same thing goes for a preacher. He is gifted to preach and a message can be of such a blessing to him, and that gift may stir up in him and he falls into desperation and he feels a zeal to preach. That does not mean he can rise from his seat and start preaching when the pastor or another preacher is preaching. He is wrong, he lacks knowledge and understanding. It is Pentecostalism. It is zeal without knowledge.

For the scriptures say in Romans 10: 2:

<For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.>

For the wise man said, in all thy getting, get understanding.

Beloved, you have got to have understanding. It is not that something is drastically wrong with the brother. He has a good gift that wants to go into action or operation or manifest, but he must learn control. In Proverbs 1: 2-6 Solomon said:

<To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.>

We have such a wise man like that in our midst, that has heard and has increased learning. He is more learnt than all the preachers in the message of Malachi 4: 5-6. He has more revelation than all of them. He is a man of vast and immense understanding, and has attained unto wise counsel. He has something that they don’t have, and he has attained unto wise counsel.

He understands a proverb (Revelation 10:1) in this message and the interpretations thereof. The man has something that all the others have their own private interpretations of. He understands the words of the wise and their dark sayings, more than all the preachers in the message of Malachi 4: 5-6. God has given His servant understanding that he has not given to any other man on the face of the earth. He has something that has already taken away all that they have.

I consider God’s servant to be a wise man and a spiritual leader among God’s people, with the correct understanding on Brother Branham’s message and the Word of God. He understands the proverb of the wise and the dark sayings of this message that no other man in the message has ever understood. He is like a golden needle in a stack of hay. God has shown this man this revelation.

To have eternal life you have to find a pastor who has eternal life in him. Sit under his preaching and he will point you to the way of life through his preaching.

In Acts: 8:30-31 Phillip said to the eunuch, <Understandest thou what thou readest?>, and the eunuch said, <How can I, except some man should guide me?>

To understand this message some God called man has to guide you. Believe it and live, doubt it and die. You must have a spiritual leader to lead you in this dark and dismal hour, otherwise you will be shipwrecked. You will end up like a ship on a storm tossed sea without a compass, and as a sheep without a shepherd; and as a sheep you have to find a man to guide you.

To understand this message of the prophet you have to find a man to guide you; you will have to find God’s leadership or else you will remain in your ignorance. You will remain without being born again and you will not be able to go up to Pentecost to another outpouring of the Holy Spirit. You will miss the rapture and you will go through the tribulation. The five-fold ministry is for the perfecting of the saints (Ephesians 4: 11-15).

 

 

Question # 5: “Should a believer say, “Hallelujah, until the Holy Ghost anoints him?”

 

            E.O.D.H. Answer: So-called Pentecost is a misrepresentation and the biggest imitation of true Pentecost that is recorded in the book of Acts. The people have a system or a practice where they are forced to say after the pastor, the words and the phrases, “Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus,” for scores of time in order to “receive the Holy Ghost.” That is the method or system invented or employed to receive the Spirit, but our Lord reminded us in Matthew 6: 7 that when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Saying “Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah” all the time to invite the Spirit to come upon you is repetitious, and Jesus said it is heathenism.

 

“OH FILL ME, FILL ME” – THE DEVIL WILL SURE DO IT

 

Quote W.M.B.: 125 False prophets have false words: creeds, denominations, sensations. "Oh, bless God, only thing you have to do... You want to wear Elijah's garment? Glory to God. Only thing you have to do is just be blank in your mind, don't think of a thing, and say, 'Oh, fill me, fill me, fill me.'" The devil will sure do it. And then you rely upon that? "Oooh, It run all over me, Brother Branham. I felt It. Oooh, glory to God, Hallelujah. Jumping up and down like that, oh, I got It." And live like you live? "By their fruits you shall know them," (See, see, see?), not sensations.

"Oh, brother, you want to receive the Holy Ghost, just get down at the altar and say, 'Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, until you speak in tongues.'" Uh-huh, go back out and live any kind of a life, lie, steal? When they tell you about being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ, "That's fanaticism, my church teaches different," and say that you are born again, washed by the waters of the Word? Something wrong somewhere. See? (You Must Be Born Again 61-1231m).

 

It is a common practice, that if a service is bound and they cannot feel the Spirit, the first thing that they do is to start saying, “Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord”, a number of times. They are taught to say it faster and faster, until they get emotional and into a frenzy and start speaking in tongues, and sometimes it is the devil speaking in tongues.

The system that so-called Pentecost invented to invite the Spirit of God among them is nothing less than heathenism. It is heathens that chant in order to get into their emotional frenzy by a religious spirit.

We have a set of Hindus called “Hare Rama, Hare Krishna” in this country, and we have heard them chant those words over and over again: “Hare Rama, Hare Krishna”. They will start off slow and then get faster and faster, and beat their drums and jump in the air. Something really happens to them. That is not a makeup something. That is getting into an emotion and you will be surprised to know how far emotion could carry a man and what he can do.

 

FIRE-WALKER WORKS HIMSELF UP INTO A FRANTIC

 

Quote W.M.B.: 55 And then if this fire-walker, if he gets scared and runs through the fire, he brings reproach upon himself. But he must walk slow, steady through these coals of fire. And sometimes they're as many as fifteen feet deep, these coals of fire,…and maybe thirty yards or forty yards long, and about, oh, maybe eight or ten feet wide. And they're white hot. And he has nothing on but a clout, which is a little loincloth-like wrapped around the midst of him. And he gets out there, was hanging with all this, and bleeding, and fish hooks and everything all over his body, works hisself up into a frantic until white slobbers is pouring from his mouth.

And here he comes, walking through that fire, and walk out on the other side, unharmed at all, through the fire. And maybe his feet going that deep--legs down into the fire, two feet or better as he walks, pulling up them red-hot coals on his human flesh, walking through that fire, and comes out on the other side unharmed. You could look at his feet, not a scratch or a scorch. (Christianity Versus Idolatry 61-1217).

 

You have seen from this quote, that when a man gets into an emotional frenzy what he can do. All of that is done through mental power. That is plenty power invested in a human being just in his mental capacity that science has not even dreamed to touch. Science has not yet even tapped the natural mental powers of a man, much less the powers that belong to his soul, the spiritual part of human beings. 

 

Quote W.M.B.:  E-33 Here the other night I saw on a telecast of a man with psychic mental faith set a glass of water and stood back and kept concentrating on that glass of water till it bursted it, just by concentration, watching that glass of water. And the glass cracked and the water run out: just pure mental consecration. Why? That's his fibers. That's his makeup. If he can do that--got a power in him by mental thinking that can break a glass of water, and him being a sinner, that shows that there was something made in that man. He's in a fallen, perverted condition. But if that man can only get back to God, and let God get into him, why, with that power turned loose of the Kingdom of God. (The Messiah 61-0117).

 

All that so-called Pentecostals are practising is a heathen way of getting into an emotional frenzy, and they do experience certain things. I ask, “What is the difference of saying, ‘Hare Ramah, Hare Krishna’ and saying, ‘Hallelujah, hallelujah’ repetitiously? It’s a chant that so-called Pentecostals are chanting, around the world, and in so doing forced them into a certain realm, bringing demons upon them, and they become demon possessed. Therefore it is wrong and unscriptural for message believers to practice such Pentecostalism.

 

 

            Question # 6: “How to break into the realms of the Spirit?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: To break into the realms of the Spirit you must have proper guidance from a spiritual leader. So-called Pentecost has no proper spiritual guidance. So-called Pentecost is based on an emotional system mixed with demon power. All these so-called Pentecostal traits and habits came over from so-called Pentecost right under the message. Right now they are falling on the ground with some kind of emotion. Women’s dresses are lifted up in the air and claim it is the Holy Ghost. That is not the Holy Ghost. It is a dirty Ghost.

We believe in saying, “Hallelujah”, but it must not be an invocation and an emotional frenzy of vain repetition. I believe in saying, “Praise the Lord.” I believe in thanking God, but we have a scripture in the Bible that told us when we pray we must not use vain repetitions as the heathens do, for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. To be repetitious as so-called Pentecost do is also chanting and it is invocation of spirits and breaking into the spiritual realms without spiritual leadership and guidance.

A man may get in the Spirit and say, “Hallelujah, praise the Lord”, and may say it for a while. But when you make that a chant to invoke and bring the Spirit of God upon you, it is wrong. Beloved, if the Spirit of God is upon you, you could say, “Hallelujah” a dozen times, but so-called Pentecost has it upside down. They chant, “Hallelujah, praise God, thank you Jesus”, to bring the Spirit of God upon them. That is wrong. That is not the method to bring the Spirit of God upon you. The scriptural method to bring God’s Spirit upon you is recorded in Acts 5: 32, where it says God gives His Spirit to them that obey him.

Revelation 5:13 <And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.>

To get God’s Spirit you have to first hear God’s Word from a God called leader, believe it, live it, strive with all your heart to obey it, and when you do wrong repent and go on with the Lord. That is God’s method for you to get in the realms of the Spirit and for God’s Spirit coming upon you to lead, guide and teach you.

The Spirit of God does not come upon you by shouting, “Hallelujah, praise the Lord, thank you Jesus”, and getting in a frenzy and you start jumping up and down, knocking down the benches and speaking in tongues. You have gotten demon possessed, thinking you have received the Holy Ghost. Your pastor is deadly wrong by forcing you as a believer under this message to get into those chants. It is Pentecostalism and he is not yet delivered from those traits though he may be sincere.

 

 

            Question # 7: “Should believers be disciplined by pastors and deacons if they don’t worship?”

 

            E.O.D.H. Answer: No pastor should press or force anyone to worship the Lord. Worship should be voluntary and it must come from the heart. It is not right for any pastor or deacon to discipline any for not lifting their hands and praising the Lord. A minister could teach his congregation to lift their hands and praise the Lord. He could discipline those who do not do so. He could openly rebuke and bawl those out that have not lifted their hands, and out of fear and embarrassment get them to say, “Thank you Jesus”, with upraised hands.

 Worship is from an honest and sincere heart to God. It is an expression of gratitude and appreciation. It is automatic and no one should be forced, chastised or disciplined for not lifting their hands in the open and saying, “Hallelujah, praise the Lord, thank you Jesus.”

That person may not say a word through their lips but in their heart they are honest, sincere and truthfully thankful to God for what He has done for them. The scripture says in John 4:24 that God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The scripture says,

I Samuel 16:7 <…man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart >

That is the requirements to worship Him. It must come from the heart, and not just lifting your hands in the open. Worship must be done in spirit and in truth. A person doesn’t have to shout “Hallelujah, praise God, thank you Jesus” in the open for him to worship God or be considered spiritual. That is so-called Pentecostalism.

Eli saw Hannah only moving her lips, and he thought she was drunk, but God heard and saw what was in her heart and granted her a son. The widow woman gave a mite and Jesus said that she gave all that she had for she did it from her heart. The publican said, “Be merciful unto me a sinner”, and went home justified, for he cried for mercy from is heart.

The people of God must worship God the way they feel led of the Lord and the way that God designed them. Not everybody has a nature to shout and scream. Some are quiet by nature. God has designed His creatures in different ways, and a man could be very quiet but in his heart he is honest and full of gratitude for the wonderful words of Life and the understanding of the scriptures. Nobody may hear him shout or scream, but in his heart he appreciates God’s servant, his brethren and what God is to him, and in his heart he is thankful to God. He may not even coin the words, “Thank you Jesus”, but in his heart he appreciates the blessings of God. That is true worship to God. Worship to God comes from the heart for appreciation for what God is and means to you.

There are no rules or regulations to discipline anybody in the House of God, when they would not raise their hands, shout, scream, dance and say, “Praise the Lord.” It is fanatical for any minister to discipline a person for not lifting their hands, for not dancing or shouting and screaming, “Praise the Lord, thank you Jesus.” He is a fanatic, he is organised, and he is wrongly trained. He is following a certain trend. He doesn’t know the ways of the Lord, and it is Pentecostalism, under the message.

A man must worship God the way he feels led of the Lord and the way that God designed him. So-called Pentecost thinks that they are really worshipping God, but look at the women’s lives. They are in pants, high heeled shoes, they chopped off their hair, paint on their faces, wear lipstick, live in fornication and adultery, sing rock, jazz, soul, dub and gospelypso music in the church and think it is the Holy spirit.  It is demon power and vain worship.

In Revelation 3, Jesus was put out of the church. If he is out of the church, who is it that the people are worshiping? The scripture said that they worship they know not what, and Jesus said in Matthew 15: 9, <But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.>

The Bible said that Satan sitteth in the temple of God being worshipped as God.

II Thessalonians 2:4 <Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.>

Satan is being worshipped as God in the religious realm.

 

Quote W.M.B: 5-4 The god of this world today, the worshipped person of this world today is Satan, and the people are ignorant of worshipping Satan. But it's Satan impersonating himself as the church (See?), as the church. They worship Satan thinking that they are worshipping God through the church, but it's the way Satan has done it. Oh, you say, "But wait a minute; we preach the Word." Look back here at my text tonight. Satan was the one preached the Word to Eve first. "God has said." See? It's that misconstruing that part of the Scripture that applies to the day.

               People, ignorantly worshipping Satan, thinking they are worshipping God. As we're warned by prophecy in II Thessalonians… That deceitfulness of the church of today... See, the son of perdition, the devil, the son of perdition, the devil... Then people worshipping Satan in this day, thinking they're worshipping God... But they're worshipping him through a creed, a man-made denominations and creeds that's brought the people right down to the greatest deception that the world has ever knowed of. (Satan's Eden 65-0829).

              

Let me touch a sore spot here: anybody who preaches that the seven thunders were revealed in 1963 and that seven trumpets are revealed, his worship is going the devil.

John 4:24 <God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. >

I don’t care if you hunted, slept, ate and drank with the prophet, or are able to quote the prophet’s message backward and forward; your worship is going to the devil. Sad to say that right under the message you have devil worshippers. Anytime you preach contrary to the truth, all your worship goes to the Devil.

Matthew 15-9 <But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men>

If you have a pastor who is living in adultery and trying to lead the church, he is leading you into the kingdom of Satan. A man like that will bend God’s Word to suit his life, and your worship is going to Satan.

We don’t force anybody to worship the Lord. You are free to worship the Lord the way you feel in your heart and in the way God designed you. You may choose to sit there and cry right through the service, and that is a blessing to see one broken before the Lord. You may feel to fold your arms and bend your heart before the Lord without a shout and squeal, and you could be worshipping more that everybody.

So-called Pentecostals know nothing about that. That is spiritual worship. It is your appreciation in your heart for God. Anytime preachers in the message rise up and try to force the people to do those so-called Pentecostal traits, it is because they themselves still have that spirit from so-called Pentecost, and they are still in Laodicea.

 

 

MIDDLE LINE IN WORSHIP

 

Let me put a little balance to the topic. I hope and trust that this does not lay a foundation for everybody to think that they are quiet in their nature and refuse to sing, refuse to worship and refuse to thank God the way how God designed them, when they come to the House of the Lord. The very same people who think they are quiet in nature, have the biggest mouth when the service is over, but cannot open their mouths to worship and praise God.

It was reported that one young man went to a party and he drank a few beers and danced. This fellow who grew up in the House of the Lord was asked: “Did you ever dance for the Lord?” He said, “No.” He never danced for the Lord, but went and danced for the Devil. Do you see how deceitful people could become?

The same quiet, pious and sanctimonious people that can’t sing, can’t open there mouths and praise God, see how excited they get with some kind of worldly thing or see how they behave when somebody gives a joke. You can hear them around the block. Inside the House of God they are quiet but outside they are loud. These are the same people who were sitting in the House of God and could not tell God thanks for the food they eat, for the clothes they wear and for the shelter over their heads. They could not sing in church, and if asked, they would tell you that they can’t sing, but they would sing worldly songs. This is deceit and it is hypocrisy.

A foolish minister would come upon the pulpit and command them to praise God. And if he beats them hard enough, they would do it, but while they praise God with their lips, there is deceit, hypocrisy and unthankfulness in their hearts. They have no life, no born again experience and they are plumb out of the Spirit. What good is it to them? It will serve them no good, for their hearts are not in it.

If you beat these people into subjection to praise God, what you do is that you breed ninety percent hypocrites and you have trained them to say, “Thank you Jesus, praise the Lord.” That is not true worship, and it is unacceptable to the Lord. It is vain worship.

Ministers in this message are wrong. They have brought over their so-called Pentecostal hogwash habits under the message and are trying to force the people into praising God. It was reported that a man’s wife and children under the message were disciplined for not praising God as they do.

            The Liberty one could exercise on the pulpit is to ask the congregation to sing and worship the Lord according to the leading of the Spirit. If you do not have the spiritual discernment when to do it and how to do it, to be on the safe side, it is better not to do it or leave such things alone, go on and sing your song, pick up the offering, do what you are supposed to do and step down, otherwise you could exercise some formality, and you will be told of it at Bethel.

            If you meet a trained congregation you could come up to the pulpit and say, “Everybody raise your hands and praise the Lord.” You could get a shocker of your life and nobody does it. Your call to worship ends up in you alone saying, “Praise the Lord, thank you Jesus”, and to avoid the embarrassment and to save your face you encourage the congregation to say it also.

            Spiritual discernment is very important in doing anything in the House of Lord. Our song leaders are told that they could ask the congregation at different intervals to say, “Let’s stand and sing a song or let’s raise our hands and praise the Lord”, but this must not take on a form and think that this must be done all the time. It does not work that way. The truth of the matter is that the congregation does not have that confidence in a song leader to obey him, as they would obey the pastor.

If our Shepherd comes up here and says, “Everybody lift your hands and worship the Lord.” Before he finishes the sentence, everybody’s hands are lifted because they heard a voice of authority and they have utmost confidence in the man. Another person will come and say the same but does not get the response or co-operation. So the best thing to do, except you feel definitely led of the Lord, is don’t do it.

A minister could come and say, “Let us worship the Lord”, but a

worship spirit is not there, and the right spiritual atmosphere or environment is not there. The people could only do that sincerely if a spirit of worship is there, and if it is, you hardly have to ask the people to do so. Spiritual worship would just flow. It will be automatic. It will be sweet and easy and they wouldn’t want to stop.

            Worship means that you are blessed. It means gratitude is coming from the heart. Spiritual worship makes you feel like getting up and running. It makes you dance, it makes you cry, it makes you sweet, and it makes you calm and tranquilized. Spiritual worship leaves you changed in the spirit, and it leaves you more determined to serve your God.

            On another occasion the congregation is bound and you know that the Spirit of the Lord is trying to breakthrough. You must have spiritual discernment to help the people. You may say, “Let us all clap our hands and sing a song.” The reason for that is to drive the devil away, and you may directly feel led to say, “Let us give the Lord a praise offering now”, and with this you loose the service. But the truth is that everybody doesn’t have that discernment and the ability to do that. If you do not have the discernment and the ability and the leading of the Spirit to do these things, then forget it. Do what you have to do and leave the pulpit.

 

 

            Question # 8: “In tarrying for the Holy Ghost meetings, is it scriptural for women to be exposed under the power of God?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: In so-called Pentecost they have what you call “Tarrying for the Holy Ghost.” When, what they call the “Holy Ghost”, comes upon the women, it causes them to fall on the floor and expose their underclothing. We hate it and God likewise hates it.         It is the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which God said He hates.

Revelation 2:6 <But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.>

There are certain senior men and women with sheets to cover the shame of the nakedness of those women when they fall, and to my greatest alarm they have brought this practise under this Holy Message.

            So-called seven thunders have produced that practise under Coleman in New York, and right now it is still going on and they said that a revival has broken in New York. It is emotionalism, it is a frenzy, it is demon power and it is fanaticism. This practice is rampant and it is prevalent in so-called Pentecost.

            You cannot convince me that the Holy Spirit will come upon a woman and cause her to rudely and shamelessly expose her nakedness like that, when the same Holy Ghost that inspired holy men to write the scriptures said, “Let your women adorn themselves in modest apparel.” It is not the Holy Ghost. It is demon possession. It is reported that a woman had this experience and she lifted her dress where she was uncovered and you could not have gotten her to pull

down her dress.

            Question # 9: “Is the pastor or the deacons in charge of the functions of the church?”

 

            E.O.D.H. Answer: Beloved, it is clear from all that we have said before that the pastor is overall in charge of all the function that goes on in the House of the Lord. He is in control of the music program, all specials and all singing, in a revival or in any service that the church has. The pastor gives permission to say who should sing a special and whatever goes on in the House of God. If somebody is on the list to play on a Sunday evening and he feels led of the Lord to change two brothers and put up two others, that must stand that way, and not a “dog should bark.” That is how the House of God is run. No one has any right to fuss with the pastor’s decision when he sets in order the music, the song leading, the deacons and trustees, where they are supposed to be. The pastor controls all the activities in the House of God, and what he say goes. That settles it for me. Why fuss; it only goes to show that you have to have another spirit.

Any pastor that will allow the people to have long drawn out testimonies to have their own way and kill the service, it is because he does not know his God given rights and he has the church running any old how.        If in a simple thing like this he does not know what to do, there is lot of other things that he does not know. When you have a man with a long drawn out testimony it bores the people, it kills the service, and by the time the preacher gets to the pulpit the people are tired and hanged down and cannot hear the most important part of the service. This reflects that you are not serious enough. That is Pentecostalism and it opens the door to bring in all kind of foul spirits.

There is nothing wrong in giving a testimony of what the Lord has done for you. Your motive and objective must be right. It must be to glorify God, to convince sinners to be saved and backsliders to hold on to the Lord and not give up.

            This problem happens mostly with those who want to show-off. If you give them fifteen minutes or half an hour to testify, they want to give their whole life story and harp on the part that glorifies themselves. You will be blessed for telling the bad things about yourself. The bad things humble your heart.

            Come up and say that you fret and fuss and you cannot settle matters peacefully and you have made enemies among your brethren in the church, and ask the Church to forgive you and pray for you, and say that you will try your utmost best not to cause any problems again by fretting and fussing.

            We here at Bethel have passed that hurdle many years ago, and the brethren that testify cut their testimony to suit or make it to the point. The brethren use the allotted time without being given a specific time limit. The truth is that you have one or two brethren who still bore the congregation. After they talk for about fifteen to twenty minutes, or half and hour, they forget what they were saying and would say. “O, I can’t remember right now. Any how, what I was saying is this.” That is not the way to testify.            You don’t even have common sense to know that you are boring people. You must use common sense in your personal conversation and speaking to members of the public to know when a man is tired of hearing you and he had enough and don’t want to hear any more. You could meet a person with a bad or forgetful memory and they could tell the same thing five times. “Do you know that I caught a ten pound fish the other day?” And tomorrow when he meets you again says that he caught an eleven pound fish. The fish starts growing bigger and bigger.

            The man don’t want to embarrass you and tell you that you told him that same fish story a week ago, but he stops there and tells you, “Yes”, but the man wants to go. But before the man goes, the person says, “Hear this, I caught a twelve pound fish.” He has a bad memory. You are a boring fellow in talking to people. No one would want to give you a hearing ear. If you are boring to your co-worker, friends, relative, brothers and sisters, you will be boring on the pulpit.

            When you testify you must testify with a certain vision to convince the youths that they should buck up and the young ladies that you were young but you held on. You are trying to convince the old man to give his soul to the Lord before he departs this life. You are testifying to convince the visitor to accept the Lord as Saviour.

You could have a fellow who comes up to the pulpit to boast. It would bring in the wrong spirit and grieve the Spirit of the Lord, and it doesn’t pave the way for the minister to enter the pulpit and preach. People are not blessed by long drawn-out testimonies. They are bored and sick.

 

 

            Question # 10: “We know that a woman cannot preach (1 Timothy 2: 12) but can she be a writer of the message and gospel?”

 

            E.O.D.H. Answer: No, she is forbidden to teach and usurp authority over the man (1 Timothy 2: 12). The first time she handled the Word in Genesis 3, Satan deceived her. She is commanded by the scriptures not to teach the Word in any form: preaching, teaching or writing. Both in the Old and New Testament there was not a woman writer, teacher, preacher or scribe. This example in scripture is sufficient to convince any Christian that it is forbidden by the Word.

Amongst the followers of the message, it is fully established that a woman is forbidden from teaching the scriptures. Upon such grounds, they hold their scriptural places and are afraid to enter the pulpit to: lead songs, introduce preachers, make announcements, read the scriptures and preach the Gospel. In recent years, however, some have formulated ways and means by the help of sissified preachers, not born again nor sealed of God, but are mere womanizers, to allow women to exercise this forbidden authority from behind the curtains, by way of voicing their opinions on the message, scriptures, church order, songs and music, by way of literature, books, magazines, Newsletters and their photographs. This is totally unscriptural and cannot be found in the Gospel message. Peter, Paul nor John never engaged a female in such fashions, neither as their scribes. There are no Epistles in the New Testament written by a woman (acting as a scribe for Brother Paul), introducing him in his Epistles, on the pulpit, or voicing their opinion about his message in any fashion. It is contrary to the message.

Brother Branham never tolerated such things, nor had any of his written work completed or done by any female, nor ever authorized any female to introduce him nor his message at his Tabernacle, on the radio or on television, because she is to remain silent with all subjection and not be permitted to speak (teach or preach) as commanded by the Lord in l Corinthians 14:34-37. All such women who exercise this authority from behind the curtains are strictly out of their scriptural place and need to repent, along with the pastors and big names in the message, for they are all blind guides leading the blind.

We ask for one quotation to prove where Brother Branham indicated, suggested or authorized any female to exercise any such authority behind the pulpit, in literature or from behind the curtains. This is a woman preaching spirit, just as bad as any woman behind the pulpit in so-called full gospel churches, boasting about how many got saved and are blessed by their preaching, writings, tapes, television and radio programs. God only recognizes His Word.

Some ministers wives take the women aside and hold meetings with them, quoting Titus2:3-5 that the elder women should teach the younger women to love their husbands and so forth. But they are wrong.  

This teaching of the younger women by the older women is limited to an exemplary life and sound personal advice, and has nothing to do with congregational gatherings of women taught by pastors' or deacons' wives or any super spiritual women, for they cannot do so without breaking down the message and scriptures, throwing their hands forward, kicking their heels, rebuking someone and preaching the Gospel.

Preachers who are not called of God make excuses for women to break down the Word from behind the curtains. Preachers' wives are afraid to enter the pulpit because genuine servants of God who preach this message and uphold the Word without compromise will make war with such hypocritical pastors and their sissified spirit. Thus the wife preaches her message to her husband from behind the curtain, in the secret chamber and he does her preaching from behind the pulpit, kicking his heels, pretending to discern and be in contact with the heavenly throne, inspired by the Holy Ghost, while his wife punctuates her own message with a masculine "Amen! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!" The result of such messages is confusion, because they are generated by an evil spirit, gossip, women confusion, backbiting, offences, enmity and hatred between pastors' families and church members.          

Women with such preaching spirits cannot abide under true servants of God in the message. When they find a preacher that's not called of God, not born again and without the Spirit of Christ, they make him a woman's puppet. They pastor the church from behind the scene. Such a woman is hailed to be super-spiritual and one hearing from God.

Question # 11: If a pastor’s wife is spiritual, can she give him Scriptures to preach, and should he listen to her?”

              

E.O.D.H. Answer: NO!!! If she was spiritual at all she won’t do that. So she is really not spiritual. The Bible says:

“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. (1 Corinthians 14:34-35).

               This Scripture is turned around: “Let her tell her husband at home.” If you start listening to her, taking the Scriptures that she wants you to preach, then you are letting her tell you at home. The Bible says, “Let her ask you at home.”

Don’t you realize that the first time that a woman tried to handle the Word, that she caused the fall in the Garden of Eden and she brought home a scripture for her husband about how nice the fruit tasted. When she brought home that Scripture it destroyed him also? She mishandled the Word and the fall of all humanity came because a man listened to the voice of his wife.

<And unto Adam he said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife…> (Genesis 3:17).

That woman is not supposed to open her mouth and give you one Scripture to preach, whether good or bad. That’s not her place, that’s a preaching spirit. The next thing is that she will tell you what to preach about.

 

 

Question # 12Is a Divine Call To Preach The Gospel The “Ability” To Understand And “Speak” The Message: Also a Dream Or A Vision Of A Brother Preaching?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: No. This is a false interpretation and is contrary to the Prophet’s message of Malachi 4:5, 1 Corinthians.2: 1-4.

              Preaching is not how well you can speak, but preaching is whether the Spirit is attendant upon the Word or not.

To believe that is incorrect, false and erroneous. It is the spirit of Nicolaitanism (Revelation 2:6) that eventually invaded the pulpit with their errors and conquered the laity or church in the early Christian ages. It is the white horse rider and it is still conquering the souls of the people in religion and under the message.

Exodus 3:1-10: Moses the Prophet was divinely called out by a supernatural pillar of fire said: “Oh my Lord, I am not eloquent” (Exodus 4:10.)

A divine call is one thing and an ability to speak is another.

Our Moses, Brother Branham could not have spoken well; but God supernaturally called him and used him, like he had never used any man (Outside of the Lord Jesus).

Quote: ‘No man has a right to preach, less he like Moses meets him out there in that scared ground that pillar of fire hanging there, where he knows where he is at.’ (Future Home 1964).

 

False interpretation of a divine call could deceive and mislead God’s children. That is where the spirit of antichrist begins to work, when he succeeds in getting or putting preachers without a divine call upon the pulpit, he will inject thoughts and ideas, errors and false interpretation in the message by men not called to the ministry. They will make themselves antichrists and false prophets right under the disguise of the message, though their intention be right, that Jesus so warned us about that will take place in the last days. (Matthew 24:11-24) (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

The Devil has a five-fold ministry. The devil sent them to create doctrinal confusion and battle in the message to deceive God’s people right under the message.

This is what is responsible for all the major doctrinal differences, false interpretations, divisions, fighting, schisms, fussing, confusions, adulterous preachers, thieves and liars in the message is because the majority of men on the pulpit do not have a divine call to handle the Word.

A man must not enter the pulpit because he is ambitious and he likes it for a career. This is not the way preaching the gospel is approached. A brother must not make himself a preacher based solely on a dream or a vision that he was preaching to a congregation. Dreams and visions do not qualify any brother to be a preacher. For a brother to be a preacher, he must fulfil certain basic scriptural requirements to be qualified as a preacher.

               A preacher must be supernaturally called like Moses; Exodus: 3:10 and like Paul; Acts: 9: 15-16. He must be trained in the Word.  A preacher must be the husband of one wife and his children, once they are living in his house must be in the faith; 1 Timothy 3:1.

               A preacher must be loyal to the Word, like the apostles, Acts: 1:2-42 and like Paul.

If you are a preacher and you have not fulfilled these requirements you are not qualified to be on the pulpit.

 

 

Question # 13: “In our church, ministers are led by prophecies from the prophets; should they do that?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: Oh, you have prophets? A minister should be led only by the Word of God and by the Spirit of God and any prophecy that he obeys should dovetail with the Word of God and the message of the hour, and if a prophecy is contrary to the Word of God then that minister should not obey that prophecy. The first thing I would ask here, how do you determine who are prophets in your church?  There is a difference of a man prophesying and a prophet. A man who prophesies does not necessarily have to be a prophet.

The second thing I will ask here, did these prophecies come in a scriptural manner? Did you have three spiritual men to judge the prophecy? Did you have another spiritual man with the discernment of spirits to confirm whether that is a right spirit or a wrong spirit, before you accepted that? Did you put that prophecy under test of the word of God, before you as a minister obeyed that? 

 

YOU DON’T EXAMINE YOUR PROPHECY WITH GOD’S WORD

 

Quote: 39-6    “They were prophets, but if they'd have stopped and examined their prophecy with the Word... They reasoned; they said, "That belongs to us, so we'll go up to Ramoth Gilead and we'll take it…That's what's the matter today. You don't examine your visions your prophecy and your doctrine with God's Word.” (Way of a true prophet 62-0513m).

 

Now the devil could come into the church through prophecy, minister brothers, and sweeten you up by many prophecies and make you get a big “swollen head”, as Ahab’s head was swollen through four hundred prophets. An evil spirit from God came upon Ahab’s prophets and they all prophesied that they should go to war, and will take Ramoth Gilead and have the victory, and there was only one prophet called Micaiah who was speaking by the Spirit of God.

All these things are deceptions ministers. You’ve got to watch for deception. Yes! Gifts that travelled down from 1906 is right under the message today, and in order to deceive backslidden preachers to go to battle, to fight at Ramoth Gilead, telling them that they are going to win thousands of souls. Prophecies could come to the church and start swelling your head: “My servant had spoken tonight; obey him or perish. I will lift him up and send him around the world. I love my servant.” And another person prophesies tomorrow night, and a next man prophesies another night, and another fellow prophesies the next week, and that could be a devil, just for that minister to start thinking that he is someone great. And his shoulders start raising, and he goes around with a big chest and say, “I have thus saith the Lord!” Where did you get your thus saith the Lord from? “A Sister spoke last week. A Brother spoke last week!” Did you check that out? 

A next prophecy comes forth: “Whosoever comes against my servant, I will cut them off.” Oh, he thinks he has great power. “I will use him in a mighty way throughout the world.” The devil is speaking in the church to overthrow that minister with pride, ambition and self. Then, after a while, that same woman who was prophesying falls in adultery, and that same man who was prophesying falls in adultery. Try the spirits.  ”Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” (1 John 4:1).

Then another sister says, “Oh pastor, when I was sitting over there I saw a light over you.” That fellow gets blown up. He says, “I have vindication from God. The Pillar of Fire is with me.” Watch out friends, a devil is setting a trap for you ministers. These things destroyed the 1906 movement. They are the foundation of Pentecostalism and now under the message.

Now, let us examine these things that I just said, by what Brother Branham had to say on this subject of prophets and prophesy.

 

YOU'RE MAKING PROPHETS OUT OF MEN THAT'S NOT PROPHETS

 

            Quote: 63    Where you got off, was this, you're making prophets out of them men and things that's not prophets… Prophets are borned. See? In the Bible there's a gift of prophecy. There's where your mistake was between the gift of prophecy and a prophet… the Body of Christ has nine spiritual gifts operating in it. And it might be on this woman tonight, prophecy, may never be the rest of her life…That doesn't make no one a prophet. It's a gift of prophecy in you. And before that…phecy can be given to the church, it has to be judged before two or three spiritual judges…” (Demonology 2 Religious 53-0609).

 

               Many ministers are being led by these “prophets” of the church. God do not allow his gifted ministers to be dependant upon a gift of prophecy and a prophesier. He speaks to them directly and may confirm that revelation by other gifts. He does not have his servants as dumb driven cattles through the gifts of prophecy, or dream as they are secondary, uncertain and can fail, be wrong and deceptive. (I Corinthians 13:8).

 

 

Question # 14: “Pastors are led by dreams and visions of believers; some ministries were confirmed by dreams. Some pastors dreamed that they are prophets, messengers to lead the bride. How do I know if they are true of false?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: Very simple. Go back to Deuteronomy 18: 22:

“When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

Deuteronomy 13:1-3 says that “If he prophesies and the thing comes to pass, but then afterward he will say, let us go and serve other gods, I have not sent that prophet.” If he changes the Word of God, no matter what he says and it comes to pass like Balaam, God did not send him.

Judas came from hell and went back to hell, but the apostolic gift in him was right; it came from God, in so much that God took the apostolic gift and gave it to Brother Paul. “Let his bishopric be taken and given to another.” (Acts 1: 20).

Now see what that apostolic gift done to the gentiles. That is what it was supposed to accomplish in the man called Judas if he had not fallen by transgression. A man could sell out his gift and he could use it for the devil.

You could have a proper dream here tonight, and then, tomorrow, you can have a dream that is wrong. An evil spirit comes in and give you a dream. An evil spirit comes in there and deceives you.

He gave us another warning: he said, “Leave those dreams alone if there is nobody to interpret it.”

 

Quote W.M.B.: E-46 God can deal in dreams…but they're not too accurate, especially in this day. (Do You Now Believe?  52-0817).

            Quote: E-8 If…any dreamer dreams a dream that's contrary to This, then it's wrong…It must come from the Word. I'm a great believer in the Word. That's what keeps us straightened out. Come back to the Word of God. (Mark Of Christ 55-0312).

 

 

Question # 15:Some ministers and young men fasted long and prayed to have power like the prophet WMB, and lost their minds, others died. Are long fasts scriptural?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: Satan misguided such sincere, honest and desperate souls. There are no Scriptures which command an individual; minister, lay-member, male or female to have long fasts. Many presume that they should fast for twenty-one days or forty days, because they read in the scriptures, about Moses and Jesus having fasted for forty days, or Daniel for twenty-one days. This is a heresy, which so-called Pentecost has propagated for many years. Many lost their minds and were committed to insane asylums. Others became demon possessed and some died. We cannot do God a service without his will; when we do things contrary to God’s will, plan and purpose, He is not responsible for us; but many times because of our ignorance, he has mercy upon us. Many books were written through the ignorance of authors which prompted sincere people to seek God for power to do signs, wonders and miracles. One such book is “Atomic power through fasting” by Franklin Hall. Many were deceived into long fasts and received no power with God because power is not by fasting but by the genuine article of Pentecost, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. “And ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon thee.” We learnt through witnesses that Brother Branham preached to people who were associated with Franklin Hall and his teachings.  He wisely attacked that heresy by saying that people asked him “if he had many long fasts to have such great power with God”, and he said to them I never fasted for more than 3-4 days in my life”.

 

THREE DAYS IS THE LONGEST I EVER FASTED IN MY LIFE

 

            Quote: 12    “A few weeks ago, there was a circular letter…said I had been with this person for thirty days on a fast. Three days is the longest I ever fasted in my life.” (Go wake Jesus 63-1130E). 

 

            This so-called Pentecostal idea and heresy were brought over under the message by Pentecostal preachers who are ignorant of the truth concerning fasting. This Heresy is based upon the gross misrepresentation of the scriptures. We should take for an example the prophet of our age, William Branham Elijah the prophet, Malachi 4:5-6. He never had long fasts, though he contemplated on doing so. He later called it “nonsense”, which he must “forget and move on with God”.

 

THERE'S NOTHING IN THE WORD TELLS YOU TO HAVE A FORTY DAY FAST

 

Quote:  111e “Forget it. Dump it out of your soul. Say, "God…I want to forget all this foolishness of all these forty day fasts and see if I can get closer to God, and all this, that, and the other, all of this nonsense." Stop it.    There's nothing in the Word tells you to have a forty day fast, not a thing.” (Enticing spirits 55-0724).

 

            God is not responsible for message ministers or believers, who presumptuously choose to go on long fasts, through their ignorance. Some are conscious of the lack of power and manifestations amongst message believers and have in the past fasted to bring that power into the church. They are ignorant of the fact that power is not by fasting, but by another outpouring of the Holy Spirit, like the day of Pentecost. In Central Trinidad a man died after a long fast. Later, a preacher friend of mines died the same way. He developed prostate cancer soon after he ended his long fast for approximately sixty days. The young man fasted at the old preacher’s home and died.

 

 

          Question # 16: How is a prayer meeting conducted? Some praying, beat and break the chairs, scream, swing their hands and hit others. Women take the lead.”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: Many who came out of so-called Pentecost are acquainted with fanatical prayer meetings. Others who are not familiar with the system of so-called Pentecost are alarmed, when they hear of such things. Some who embraced the message, brought over their Pentecostal traits of praying and doing many other religious things, through their former training, and maybe are yet ignorant of what is true prayer and worship, and must be taught. This question reflects that fact. Some demonic activities are involved and much over-emotionalism. There is no scripture to support such fanaticisms of breaking chairs, injuring persons, screaming uncontrollably, women unveiling themselves, speaking in tongues without interpretation and many other unscriptural manifestations.

Such manifestations are accepted by ministers of so-called Pentecost and now even by message ministers as the “moving of the Spirit”, but it is not. Its fanaticism and heretical! Though such people may be sincere, honest and desperate for God and to have their prayers answered, they are untrained and out of scriptural order. The minister himself may have brought over such Pentecostal traits under the message and his church. Thus, such manifestations are commonly accepted by him and from his congregation.

            Real prayer meetings are to be conducted in the most simple and humble manner! The saints of God are gathered, music can be played to invite the Spirit of the Lord, and some singing can be included to get the people into the spirit. Psalms can also be read as a form of prayer, if the saints are not praying out to the Lord as expected. Certain persons can be appointed to lead in prayer one after the next without using the pulpit or having to call upon them Those who are not praying should try to yield to the spirit by repentance, confession of sins, lifting holy hands unto the Lord and agree with the prayer of others who are praying! (Matthew 18:19). It is important to understand that all do not have the same nature and expressions to the Lord and may choose to pray in their hearts like Hannah, whose lips moved and her words were not heard; insomuch that Eli judged her as a drunken woman. Others may weep before the Lord silently and others openly. God deals with his subjects in the way that He designed them and one should not judge another, because they are not loud in their expressions!

             

 

Question # 17: Should Christians be superstitious and visit obeah (witchcraft) men or witch doctors?”         

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: There are many Bible believers and some message believers who are bound by superstitions. They regard omens, superstitious signs, believes in many old wives fables and mythical stories of Ghost under different titles. Many of those believers were once associated with religions and organizations, which promote such superstitions. Such evil travelled down from old pagan religions, Baalamism, Babylonianism and Romanism, which eventually was heaped up in Catholicism and branched of into other organizations. Seeds of superstitions are sown into the tender hearts of children by superstitious parents and other people. They are moulded in fear and truly believe such superstitions which become part of their daily lives. Such seeds are in people when they become Christians.

Superstitions which have their roots in pagan religions and mythology, have bound billions of people in the past, and most of the world is yet bound, bewitched, and live in fear and dread of evil forces. Their religious leaders sell certain prayers, candles, chains, rings, and millions of other items to such people, with the promise that they will be protected by them. Even some message believers visit these places in hope of finding deliverance from withcraft, obeah or some spell that was done to them by someone else. Christians are under the blood and no evil shall harm them if they exercise faith in Christ and the blood of the cross, and it is free.

 

 

            Question # 18: For wedding ceremonies some women dress with high combed hairstyles; can’t worship. Is this scriptural?”

 

            E.O.D.H. Answer: In weddings or other functions, people who are not born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, are anointed by a spirit of society. They are changed automatically from Christians to worldly persons, and endeavour to fit their functions into society with pump and pride. Such ungodliness are expressed by the women, by semi-Christian dresses, shoes and hairstyles, change of accents,  in verbal addresses, insomuch that some of them are unrecognizable as the same people who come to church from service to service. Such practices are hypocritical and unscriptural.

                       

 

            Question # 19:  Are Sunday schools scriptural?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: No! The prophet of God said it is not, but is a Methodist dogma that started in organization. Nobody could tear that down with the Word.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL'S -THAT'S A METHODIST DOGMA.

 

            Quote: 33-3 Each church trying to outdo another one in Sunday school. And Sunday school's not even spoke of in the Bible. That's a Methodist dogma. It was first called ragged school. Everybody now goes to Sunday school that can't stay for church, because they took something besides what God said. That's right. And remember, I never said I preached anything in inspiration in my life I had to take back, like I did the altars the other day and things, you know. Serpent's seed or any of that, let someone come and tear it down with the Word of God. (Sirs we would see Jesus  61-1224).

 

 

Question # 20: “Message ministers have instituted additional offerings and pledges and pull for money just like so-called Pentecost. Is this scriptural?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: All that the scripture requires of a believer is to pay their tithes, offerings, and in the Old Testament there was what you called a building fund and such like. All else, such as pledges, pastor’s love offering, begging and bumming for money, collections for feasts where believers must pay for what they eat etc., are unscriptural and has there roots in Pentecostalism.

A money loving spirit is a Judas spirit. He sold the Word for thirty pieces of silver. Preachers’ wives around the message boast of millions of dollars in the bank, money pulled out of the people from around the world. They and their families live high and luxuriously, unlike true servants of God who they and their families live humble lives, share the tithes and offerings, and even their personal wealth with the believers. That is the spirit of Balaam the false prophet, upon these money loving preachers, which ended up in organization and the Catholic System. Brother Branham never pulled his congregation for money, and no true preacher will, but like Samuel he will set the right example.

 

I DON’T BELIEVE IN PULLING, BEGGING AND BUMMING MONEY

 

Quote W.M.B.: Brother Branham is it wrong for ministers to make long pulls for money in their services, telling that God has told them that so many in the audience are supposed to give so much? If this is right, I want to know. Or if it is wrong, I want to know. This had disturbed me terribly?

I think it’s terrible…I do not believe in pulling and begging and bumming money. I think it’s a wrong thing…. I do not believe in it I’ve even knowed of Ministers at a big convention- took the whole afternoon, standing on the platform and threatening that God would destroy their crops, would give their children polio, and things like that, if they didn’t put into that meeting… It’s blasphemy to God and to his followers. (Question & Answers on the Holy Ghost 19/12/59 Pg. 21).

 

 

Question # 21: “Is it scriptural to claim your neighbour’s goods in the name of the Lord? Is this not a covetous spirit?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: Such thing originated and is a product of so-called Pentecost with the “word of faith revival.” “Word-Faith teachings trace their roots to E. W. Kenyon (1867-1948), a New England evangelical pastor who taught that health and finances were the right of every believer who would claim the promises of Scripture through faith. Kenyon claimed God's promises were realized by our believing and verbally confessing the relevant scriptures, and thus he coined the phrase, "What I confess, I possess."

A more scriptural term for this is the “get-rich” or “prosperity” gospel. This spirit was prophesied to be here in the end time.

Revelation 3:17 <Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.>

Some who claim to be Christians, circled their neighbors building, vehicles and possibly their wives, claiming them in the name of the Lord.

This is a lustful, greedy and covetous spirit, which has no regards for the following scriptures:

Exodus 20:17 <Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.>

I Timothy 6:5-11 <Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.>

 

 

Question # 22: “There are ministers who, while they are preaching, act as though they are under the power of God. They pretendingly cry, groan stammer and manifest other seemingly spiritual emotions. Were they really under the power of God to do those things?”

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: No! This is a practice that is prevalent in so-called Pentecost and Bible school training that message ministers have adopted, some of them having been former Pentecostals preachers. This traces back even further than Pentecostalism, as Jesus found such pretence amongst the religious leaders in his day. Matthew 23:14 < Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.>

Men who are not genuinely called of God act as though they are under the power of God. This is gross hypocrisy and a form of godliness as these same men go out and commit adultery with women in the church.

II Timothy 3:5 <Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts.>

 

 

Question # 23: Why do message believers, upon greeting one another, say, “Hallelujah, praise the Lord, God bless etc. Are these things scriptural?

 

E.O.D.H. Answer: We believe in saying all these things, as the scriptures support them. But it must not be done as a form or without a true meaning from the heart. A Christian should strive to say with a true meaning everything that comes out of his lips, and desist from all hypocrisies.

Precious brethren; I trust that this subject: “Traits of Pentecostalism under the message”, will be of edification to the elected Bride internationally. May it serve to lead, guide and direct true message believers and ministers away from Pentecostalism and to desperately contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints; and even more desperately, to contend for the final outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which is soon to come upon the end time Bride.
